Biography

With a photographic pedigree established over a 15-year career, Kate’s fashion credentials continue to flourish shooting stunning editorials for Flaunt, Stylist, Glass, Stella and Icon Magazine. She maintains her commercial interests with past clients including N Peal, Debenhams, Evans and Bodas as well as major record companies including Island, Warner, Polydor, Virgin and BMG.

Kate’s career aspirations were realised quickly when, fresh out of high school, she was given the chance to cut her teeth assisting New Zealand’s biggest fashion photographer. It was an opportunity she leapt at and she’s reaped the rewards ever since. Under his expert tuition Kate learnt the finer details of her craft and on arrival in England in 1991 picked up the reins on this side of the world, rapidly progressing to fully fledged professional status with commissions for respected music, fashion and advertising clients.

Kate’s wanderlust finds her shooting all over the world creating beautiful fashion stories in exotic locations and capturing intimate portraits of international music and acting stars, including Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Sienna Miller, Lily Cole and Usher. Kate’s published work includes a contribution to the widely acclaimed book 4 Inches (the collaboration between Jimmy Choo and Cartier, proceeds of which went to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation), where she was chosen as one of the all-female featured artists, photographing actress Rosanna Arquette for the much sought-after coffee table bible.
